Research

The Australian Fair Pay Commission’s decisions and wage reviews are informed by research, consultations and submissions.

Research is a priority for the Commission. The Australian Fair Pay Commission Secretariat conducts an ongoing research program that provides independent research and analysis to inform wage-setting decisions and monitor their impacts. The Commission’s commitment to high quality research is outlined in its Research Charter.

The research program consists of a mix of projects commissioned from external researchers as well as using the in-house research capability of the Secretariat.

Over time, the Commission’s research program is adding significantly to the bank of knowledge about minimum wages and their impact on Australians.

Published commissioned research

The Secretariat has undertaken to publish all research it has commissioned. The findings of research commissioned by the Secretariat and any views expressed are those of the authors, and are not necessarily endorsed by the Commission.
