The Australian Fair Pay Commission released two Issues Papers on 26 September 2007 to commence its reviews into the role of Australian Pay and Classification Scales and of junior and training wages in the Australian labour market. On 18 December 2007, the Commission agreed to a request from the Federal Government to discontinue these reviews, to avoid the potential for overlap and/or duplication with the Award Modernisation process to be undertaken by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
