The Australian Fair Pay Commission Secretariat was a federal government agency responsible for financial management and the provision of resources to facilitate the work of the Australian Fair Pay Commission from 2006 to 2009.

Functions of the Secretariat

The Secretariat performed a range of activities to assist the Commission in the performance of its legislative functions, including:

  • conducting and commissioning research on behalf of the Commission;
  • conducting consultation and submission processes;
  • evaluating and monitoring the impact of the Commission’s wage-setting decisions;
  • undertaking activities to promote understanding of the Commission, its role and functions; and
  • providing corporate and administrative support to the Commission.
